VGMC Performs “Nightsong”

The Video Game Music Choir is no stranger to the music of World of Warcraft, having previously adapted tracks from Wrath of the Lich King back in 2010. These talented students enchanted us with their haunting performance and, much to our pleasure, they’ve done it again with their latest project, bringing to life a beloved song from the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm soundtrack.

Till Death Do You Part

Players across Azeroth have recently embraced a new, very personal achievement: leveling a character "Iron Man" style. What started out as only a small movement, this bare bones, no-frills style of play has now transformed into a community-wide call-to-arms known as the Iron Man WoW Challenge, inviting World of Warcraft enthusiasts to see how close they can get to level cap with only the barest of necessities.

Patch 4.3 Preview: Void Storage

For quite some time now, players have been asking for a location in which to store important keepsakes including treasured armor sets, unique quest rewards, and gifts from friends, as well as other valuable items they’ve collected on their journeys throughout Azeroth. This is a feature we’ve wanted to add to the game for a while, so we’re excited to announce that, thanks to the ingenuity and entrepreneurship of the Ethereals, a new long-term storage option will soon be available to completionists and collectors alike.

Patch 4.2 Preview: “Elemental Bonds” Quest Line

After the druids and their allies thwarted the invasion of Hyjal by the Twilight's Hammer and Ragnaros, an air of peace settled on the sacred mountain. As new growth bloomed across the region, members of the Earthen Ring and Cenarion Circle, along with the noble Dragon Aspects, convened at the ancient World Tree of Nordrassil...

Patch 4.2 Preview: The Regrowth and Molten Front Daily Quest Hubs

Following the Cataclysm, Ragnaros's elemental minions assaulted Mount Hyjal in a bid to set the ancient World Tree of Nordrassil ablaze. Although the Guardians of Hyjal and their allies heroically repelled this invasion, their work on the sacred mount is far from over. In the newly healed Regrowth, Archdruid Malfurion Stormrage and his comrades have transformed the Sanctuary of Malorne into a staging ground for an assault on Ragnaros's domain: the Firelands. Thus far, their efforts have been frustrated by a resurgence in elemental activity that has engulfed the Regrowth and divided Malfurion's forces.

Poll: If It’s Red, It’s Dead

In previous polls and forum discussions, we’ve focused a lot on PvE content: which new quest zone was your favorite, how you celebrate certain holiday events, and even if you’ve been slaughtered by local wildlife. But PvE is only one (delicious) slice of the World of Warcraft pie.

Poll: Dah Nuh, Dah Nuh

Off the coast of Dun Morogh, beneath the sunlit reaches of the Great Sea, swims the arbiter of the deep. Known to many as simply “the whale shark,” this legendary leviathan patrols the sunken ruins of Vashj’ir, casually devouring any inattentive or overzealous adventurers who cross its path.

Thrall: Then and Now

Fortified citadels lay in ruins. Ancient forests burn brightly in the light of the setting sun. Arid stretches of desert, once known to claim even the most hearty of travelers, now house fertile oases teeming with new species of flora. The Shattering changed a great many things. While the landscapes of the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor may have been the most visibly affected by Deathwing's return, many of Azeroth's heroes have also undergone drastic transformations of their own.

Character Image FAQ

As many of you have already discovered, one of the focal points of the new World of Warcraft community site is, well… you! Not only do you have a variety of controls at your fingertips, but you’re now represented by unique 3D renders of your in-game characters. These new character images will appear in your Armory profile, in the character card once you’re logged in, and whenever you post a comment or reply. A number of players have been asking for more information about how these 3D renders, so we’ve put together an FAQ to explain how they work and how they’re created.

Elemental Invasion Survival Kit

Azeroth's capital cities, once bastions of trade and commerce, are now under siege by forces from the Elemental Planes. While faction leaders have recently established Evacuation Portals throughout each city, allowing concerned denizens to safely escape before the next full-scale invasion occurs, we understand that accidents still happen. In the event of an emergency, for example, you may become trapped, separated from your evacuation party, or be otherwise unable to reach a secure location.

Are You Insane in the Membrane?

It's a question you've been asking us for a little while now. And, based on all the posts, emails, petitions, and letters we received following the announcement that the Insane in the Membrane achievement would no longer be in available in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, we started to wonder if maybe we had gone a bit loco.
